| I will admit there were some stories (each chapter of the book was an individual person's story, and they were all connected without knowing about each other) that I just did not understand their relevance to the overarching snapshot of NY, but enjoyed the book nonetheless. The author has a good writing style, and you get just a long enough story that pushes your patience (getting almost to the "when will it be over" question), but never actually causes it to be lost. I can see why it won an award, and individuals should read it just for the way the characters are interlaced in a seemingly effortless manner. |
