Arguing that happiness is the precursor to success and not the other way around, Achor, a lecturer and consultant who designed a positive psychology course at Harvard U., outlines seven principles of positive psychology that can raise happiness, thereby raising success at work. He draws from research in the field, in addition to research he conducted with Harvard students, to explain principles such as how to retrain the brain to capitalize on positivity, adjust mindsets to create the power to be more fulfilled, focus on small goals, find mental paths to lead out of failure and suffering, and invest in family, friends, and peers.
